Lance Jon Kimmel
Lance Jon Kimmel of the SEC Law Firm in Los Angeles California has more than 25 years’ experience representing growing companies and the middle market, focusing on corporate and securities legal matters, strategic business planning, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings for both public and private companies, SEC reporting and representation of companies before the SEC and stock exchanges. Lance has handled capital raising at all levels, from seed capital to initial public offerings, from secondary offerings of debt and equity to bank credit facilities.
He is also considered the country’s foremost legal expert on the cost of corporate governance compliance under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for small and mid-cap public companies. Lance most recently served as the head of the securities practice in the Western Region, and the national Vice Chair of the Emerging Companies Practice Group, of one of the largest and oldest law firms in the United States.
Lance has represented a broad spectrum of businesses, from emerging companies in such cutting-edge areas as life sciences and technology, to seasoned Fortune 500 companies in broadcast and manufacturing. His clients have a global reach - from Europe to Asia - reflecting the scope of business and commerce in the 21st century. In addition, Lance has represented financial institutions, including underwriters and investment bankers, as well as venture funds and other investor groups. As a result, he has seen most transactions from every angle and brings a multidimensional and proactive perspective to his practice.
Lance attended Edinburgh University in Scotland and graduated, cum laude, from Franklin & Marshall College (A.B. 1975) with honors in government and classical civilization. He graduated from New York University School of Law (J.D. 1978) and served as a Special White House Intern during the 1976 presidential election. Lance is admitted to practice law in New York and California.
In his spare time, Lance and his wife Sabine support the Native American arts community, and collect Southwest pueblo pottery, California baskets, Northwest Coast/Alaska carvings and Inuit sculpture.
