Governor Jeb Bush
Governor Jeb Bush is Florida's 43rd governor, elected in 1998 and re-elected in 2002, becoming the first Republican to be re-elected governor in the state's history. Since taking office, his top priority has been creating a world-class educational system through high standards and increased accountability. Another priority has been Tort reform. Gov. Bush and House leaders have agreed that the cap be no lower than $500,000 so victims and their families in the very worst cases can receive up to $2.5 million. Gov. Bush has acknowledged that although there is no guarantee insurance premiums will go down, it will create certainty in the insurance marketplace.
