Lee Carl Bromberg is co-founder of Bromberg & Sunstein LLP and chairs its Litigation Practice Group. A leading intellectual property litigator and accomplished trial strategist, Mr. Bromberg has successfully handled a wide range of technology-based disputes. The disputes included patent infringement actions, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition and related cases in high technology areas.

Mr. Bromberg's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, in which he has represented numerous national companies. Specific patent cases in electronics, software, medical devices, biochemistry and other disciplines have involved technologies including electric motors, consumer electronic appliances, mechanical compression packing, road marking devices, image processing systems, voice recognition systems, CADCAM software, telephone circuitry and call routing systems, Web site operating software, printing press technology, polymer plastics, intravenous valves and equipment, ACL surgical techniques, chromatography, immunochemical diagnostic devices and electrochemical biosensors. He has extensive experience in presenting complex technical and scientific subject matter to courts and to juries, and has achieved outstanding results in a number of cases. In one patent infringement case, Mr. Bromberg obtained and successfully preserved on appeal a $25-million-dollar judgment for willful patent infringement at trial. In another case, he secured a jury verdict denying any recovery on a claim for $11.5 million in patent infringement damages.

A substantial portion of Mr. Bromberg's practice also has been devoted to copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition litigation. He has represented nationally known companies in trademark and trade dress cases, and has assisted a number of clients in trade secret misappropriation disputes. He also has represented companies in commercial cases involving scientific equipment and other technical subject matter, including environmental cases. Lee's practice also includes client counseling, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution in intellectual property matters and complex commercial matters.

In recent years, Mr. Bromberg has served as a court-appointed discovery master for a hotly contested patent litigation. He also has testified as an expert witness on patent litigation and trademark law and practice.

Mr. Bromberg has authored numerous articles and been a frequent speaker on intellectual property law and litigation at continuing legal education programs and before bar associations and other professional organizations. For the past several years he's served as organizing co-chair of the annual intellectual property conference sponsored by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education in Boston. Mr. Bromberg serves on the Council of the Boston Bar Association and as a Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation. He is an officer of the Board of Governors of the Boston Patent Law Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the International Trademark Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Mr. Bromberg graduated from the University of Michigan with high honors and received a master's degree from Cornell University. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School (J.D., 1969). Previously, he served as a special assistant attorney general and a clinical associate professor of law at Boston University School of Law.
